The open day was the first opportunity for local people to visit the new branch in Market Square, and the event attracted a large number of guests, including councillors, ministers and florists, as well as members of the general public. The new premises were officially opened by the Mayor of Princes Risborough, Councillor Alan Turner, and were blessed by Reverend David Williams.
“We were overwhelmed by the success of the open day and would like to thank everyone who attended,” said Graham Russell, funeral director. “Although we have been serving the people of Princes Risborough for over 200 years via our teams in Little Kimble and Aylesbury, we are delighted to open a new branch in the centre of the town, allowing us to provide better support to families in the local area.”
Residents were given rides around the town in a traditional horse-drawn carriage, and a live jazz band provided entertainment throughout the day. Guests were also able to take part in a flower arranging demonstration, and a buffet lunch was provided for all who attended. Doves were released to mark the occasion, and local residents had the opportunity to tour the premises and have any questions answered by the branch team.
“We feel it is important to encourage residents to ask us questions. We’re very open about what we do as part of our day-to-day operations, to inspire confidence that, if needed, we will be there to support families with every aspect of arranging a funeral.
“We were delighted to have this great opportunity to get to know the local community, and we’d like to extend our thanks once more to the people of Princes Risborough for giving us such a warm welcome,” concluded Graham.
